Hold Utility Companies Accountable
Everyone should have utility bills they can afford.
Lately, those costs have gone up way too much for families.
I support:
Sales Tax Cuts: Ending the state tax on home utility bills that saves the average family about $350 a year.
Fair Prices: Keeping your monthly bills lower by making sure big companies do not make too much profit.
Responsible Development: If a utility company wants to try a new technology, it should pay for it until it produces energy, not the customers.
Good Jobs: Supporting union workers, which helps the local economy.
Protection of Natural Resources: Using new technologies to keep the soil, water, and air clean for everyone.
-
Fully Fund Public Schools
Public schools need more funding and support to help students succeed. Every child deserves a great education, no matter where they live.
I support:
Quality Education for all: Making sure all students get the same high-quality learning, regardless of their neighborhood.
Increased Pay: Giving teachers and school staff better pay for their hard work.
Consistent Use of Your Taxpayer Dollars: Making sure all schools that take tax money follow the same rules. This helps everyone see how the money is being spent.
Local Control: Allowing local school boards, not the state legislature, to make the best choices for the families in their own towns.
-
Affordable Health Care
All Hoosiers deserve health care they can afford. Recent cuts to Medicaid have made things harder for families, people with disabilities, and seniors. Home health care services have been cut and some hospitals in small towns are even at risk of closing.
I support:
Spending Smartly: Create a better budget that pays for health care and helps people see a doctor when they are sick.
Staying Healthy: Support programs that prevent illness and catch health problems early.
Helping at Home: Add more health services delivered to the home so Hoosiers can live at home longer.
